ICY Security has been acquired by Columbus, a Danish IT consultancy company with businesses in all of Scandinavia, the UK and the US: “This is the next step for us to continue to develop as a company. Columbus has resources that will open new doors for us to enable rapid growth.”
Copenhagen, 11.04.2023: Today, ICY Security was acquired by Columbus as a strategic move to safeguard their position as leaders within Identity & Access Management. With a global operation, continuous growth, and a strong presence in Scandinavia, Columbus was the natural choice of partner for ICY Security, explains Christian Almskou, CEO at ICY Security.
“We knew we needed to partner up with a company that would enable us to expand in new areas. With Columbus, we will get access to new competencies, markets, and an increased amount of global resources,” says Christian Almskou, and continues:
“ICY Security focuses mainly on highly regulated industries that historically have been looking for one partner to deliver only on Identity & Access Management. Now, the market is changing,” he explains.
Positive synergy effects
This is one of the reasons why ICY Security joins forces with Columbus, which offers services in several different areas, such as Cloud ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), Digital Commerce, Data and Analytics, and more. With ICY Security, Columbus will be adding cyber security and Identity & Access Management to their vast portfolio of offerings.

Aligned values and goals
ICY Security will be joining Columbus’ Danish offices as a first step. The plan is to then expand further into the rest of the Nordics, where Columbus has close to 1,000 employees.

ICY Security will for now keep their brand name but will add the byline Part of Columbus. From January 2024, ICY Security will adopt the Columbus brand and logo fully.
